Once again, the votes are in…

It’s official! (As of yesterday. Sorry for giving this to you a day late.) Dilma Rousseff (a.k.a. Lula’s pet) is Brazil’s first female president. She won the presidential election in its second round, beating José Serra by taking 56.05% of the vote. If you want to learn everything there is to know about Dilma (campaign platform, biography, etc.), you can go here. (Warning: It’s all in Portuguese. But you can still see the photo albums if you can’t decipher the words.) Now let’s wait and see if a change in gender means a change in the way the country is run…
